Eight channels are cut into the upper rim, each a different width, each arriving from a different direction. Nothing they bring lines up — that is the state the platform finds before it lifts a finger.

Intake

The comb keeps what cannot pass

All eight channels end in one open settling pan with a coarse comb across it. It holds back what does not belong; what passes goes over the far lip and drops a step lower.

The lock hall

Same width, same spacing

Eight narrow flumes, each with its own gate. On the intake side every strand still has its own measure; on the discharge side all eight leave at equal width and equal spacing.

Storage

The level is written on the wall

A field of round basins stepped into the slope and joined by short notches. Each stands at its own height, readable from the rings on the inner wall — almost nothing moves here, and that is the point.

Query

One tap, one stream

A wall of taps, packed tight, and exactly one of them open. It gives a thin, precisely aimed stream into a waiting vessel — a query does not take the basin, it takes the sip.

Output

The first time the colour comes from the place itself

At the lowest point stands the manifold, six runnels leaving it to supply six vessels at the rim. Both are translucent amber — the first material in this world that carries its colour inside instead of receiving it.

Ingest, transform, store, query. Four abstractions nobody can picture — so the world made them locks, filters, basins and one clear reservoir at the end.

Show what happens to a customer's data between arriving and being useful, without a single diagram.
